sulpheurus).
As
it's name suggests, the taste and texture of Chicken-of-the-woods
really does strongly resemble poultry meat.
A favourite
find on summer wild
mushroom
forrays, this mushroom prefers large hardwood stumps
still
rooted
in the
ground, large diameter logs (over 12" or
30cm), and also tree trunk sections cut into discs
or 'rounds'.
