Description
Made from butyl rubber and autoclaveable, these injector ports allow liquid mycelium to be injected via a syringe into a mason jar containing sterilised grain or for further expansion of the liquid culture. This system maintains sterility without having to open the jar and is perfect for cultivators that don’t have access to a laminar flow hood and can be used with a pressure cooker that doesn’t form a vacuum on cooling.
Drill a 12mm hole in the metal jar lid, and if using filter discs, drill through the filter as well. To create an air-tight seal use heat resistant silicone sealant round the base of the port and allow 12-24 hours for it to cure.
