Description
Made from butyl rubber and autoclaveable, these injector ports will form an air-tight seal after liquid mycelium has been injected via a syringe into a mason jar containing sterilised grain or for further expansion of the liquid culture. This system maintains sterility without having to open the jar and is perfect for cultivators that don’t have access to a laminar flow hood and can be used with a pressure cooker that doesn’t form a vacuum on cooling.
Our professional self-healing injection ports are capable of taking multiple insertions from a needle, where as lesser quality ports are generally single use.
Drill a 12mm hole in the metal jar lid, and if using filter discs, drill through the filter as well. Push in the port ensuring there is a good tight seal. Due to the design of these professional injection ports, sealant is not normally required as an airtight seal will be formed.
