Select Mushroom Species Produced in Batches
The number available to purchase from the current production batch will be indicated. When the batches are ready the spawn will then be dispatched along with any other products in the order.
Black Morel is very sensitive species and is one of the most difficult to produce in the laboratory. So to keep the quality of the spawn up we produce in small batches of 1kg bags only so we can carefully monitor it’s production to make sure everything is right and that the spawn is capable of producing sclerotia – the signal that the spawn is viable and of sufficient quality to produce mushrooms given the right conditions.
KING STROPHARIA is comparatively slow growing in the laboratory and it takes 4-6 weeks to produce each batch. Because of this length of time in the lab, it takes up a considerable amount of (mush)room on our shelves. As space is limited we have to ensure we have the space for our other products as well.
